What Frani’s Saying…
Dear Colleen,
Let me begin by saying that you are the reason why each and every day I embrace my veganism to the full capacity. It is you who has led me on the path to being a joyful vegan and to slowly, but surely, spreading the awareness of animal rights and veganism. I have begun to listen to your podcasts and I simply love hearing each and every one them. I listen to them each day and I learn something new in them all. I hope for one day to donate to your podcast so that others can hear the compassion that thrives in your heart that touches others and really makes an impact on the lives of animals, as well.
Today I am writing to you about a future podcast that you could do. I’m unsure if you have already done one but if not, my suggestion is all the craze of the Paleo diet and the other meat-centric diets out there. I keep hearing it throughout and it frustrates me and saddens me that people are embarking on this journey for health by consuming the flesh of animals and declaring that “this is the way we were meant to eat” & “our ancestors have always done it.” To me, there is nothing ethical about that. I go to the Institute for Integrative Nutrition that teaches a lot of dietary theories out there. Though I’m hugely amazed by the wonderful tips and lovely lectures out there, I don’t quite agree with everything else they teach. A lot of the dietary theories they teach us are usually based on diets that include meat and whenever the topic of vegetarianism or veganism comes up it comes up as this: “It’s good for children but for adults, they all need to eat differently and either be vegetarian or not.” That really bugs me. As a person who cares about the animals, I don’t want to be hearing that you need meat for this or that or that not everyone can go vegetarian and what not. My mission for the animals and for everyone is to focus solely on vegan nutrition and show the many ways it can be used and to empower people to live their life with joy & wonder without the use of animal products no matter what their age or what disease, allergy or whatever. I care about humans but also animals. I’d like to hear what you have to say about these diets that boast about meat but especially the Paleo diet.
Much love & hugs,
Frani
